Pop's wad

My father, a beatnik painter, never carried a wallet. He always had bills, rolled up in a tight tube, wrapped in rubber bands. He still doesn't have credit cards, and has a profound disdain for credit in general and automated payments. There's something beautifully freeing about the idea of bills in rubber bands. Maybe that's all you need.
